HS Gymnastics: Bismarck High looking for bonus points on uneven bars to push up team score

In high school gymnastics, Bismarck High is expected to make another trip to the state tournament this season.

The girls have posted an average 131.865, which should get them into the big dance at the end of the year.

The team says their best event is the beam, which is traditionally one of the harder events at the high school level.

Bismarck High wants to improve on the uneven bars and try to pick up bonus points.

“I do giants and I do toe fronts,” Kate Dillman said, “which is a bonus. I also do a release like straddle backs that will give you a bonus. Those are harder skills to do, so not a lot of us have them.”

This Saturday, Bismarck heads down to Dickinson for a meet at the home of the defending state champs.
