HS Softball: Bismarck High, Century register upsets; will meet for WDA title

The Bismarck High and Century softball teams scored upsets in the semifinals of the West Region Girls’ Softball Tournament on May 25.

Bismarck High came back from a 8-5 deficit to defeat Dickinson in 10-8 in eight innings. The Patriots win over the No. 1 seed sends them back to the state tournament. Dickinson will face Mandan in the State Qualifier game May 26 at 1 p.m.

In the other semifinal, No. 3 Century handed No. 2 Minot their first loss of the WDA tournament. The Patriots exploded for seven runs in the top of the sixth inning. Century knocked off Minot, 10-4. Minot will face Legacy in the State Qualifier May 26 at 11 a.m.

Century will play Bismarck at 3 p.m. for the WDA title.

Bismarck is seeing back-to-back West Region Championship.
