Eric Krug is one of five veteran seniors on the Bismarck High swim team, but there was a time when he wasn’t even considering the sport.
Krug tried out for basketball his freshman year, but when he knew he wasn’t going to make the team, he decided to give swimming shot.
That decision worked out well. As a senior, Krug is one of the top sprinters in the state.
Krug says his reputation pushes him to keep improving and set an example for his younger teammates.
“Definitely,” Krug said, “because all the younger kids look up to me, because I’m one of the best in the state, so they all kind of want to be the best in the state, too.”
Krug has already qualified for state in six individual events, but, he’ll most likely choose to race the 50 and 100 free.
