HS VBall: Century heads back to title tilt, Mandan suffers heartbreak

Century will play for their third straight state title, while Mandan lost a heartbreaker in the semifinals of the Class A Volleyball State Tournament on Nov. 17.

The Patriots started off slow. In fact, Century lost the first set to Valley City. However, the Patriots started to look like the two-time defending state champions over the next three sets. Century won, 3-1.

Mandan was very close to making their second state finals appearance in school history. The Braves lost a two-sets-to-none lead to Jamestown. Mandan lost, 3-2.

The state championship match will feature a rematch of the WDA title tilt between Century and Jamestown. The Patriots won that match 3-1.

First serve for the match is at 7 p.m.
