HS VBall: Legacy gaining momentum midway through the season

National Sports

Last weekend was almost flawless for Legacy volleyball. The Sabers posted a 5-1 record at the Dickinson Invite and are in fourth place in the WDA.

This is a big shift from the beginning of the season when the team was struggling to play .500 ball.

Head coach Jenn Astle says this year’s squad had plenty of girls making the jump from junior varsity to varsity and the young team has grown up as the season has progressed.

“We’ve stepped on the floor and have had some ups and downs,” Astle said. “Our first tournament was a little rough for us. We kind of had to get some of the jitters out there, but I think we’ve done that fairly well.”

Legacy hosts Minot on Sept. 28 at 7 p.m.
