HS VBall: Ware’s return leads to two-game win streak

National Sports

After a 3-4 start, the Century volleyball team is looking to start a three game winning streak later this week.

The defending state champs have won back to back games to push their record to 5-4.

It’s no surprise that their good play coincides with the return of 6-foot-4 sophomore Lauren Ware.

The Patriots have only dropped one set in their last two contest and coach Jamie Zastoupil says their focus will remain on defense.

Defense is our main focus right now,” head coach Jamie Zastoupil said. “Everyone wants to go for the big hit, but we need to focus on our defense. We need to focus on our serve-receive game and try to get those passes so we can have some form of offense.”

On Sept. 7, the Patriots travel to Jamestown to try and win their third straight match.
