HS VolleyBall: St. Mary’s a victory from avoiding WDA play-in game

Sports

In high school volleyball, with a win tonight, St. Mary’s will be the No. 5 seed and avoid a play-in game for the WDA tournament.

That win will have to come against Jamestown, who is currently tied with St. Mary’s for the fifth seed.

Earlier this season, Jamestown defeated St. Mary’s at home, 3-1. However, the Saints feel they are much better team than the match on September 11 showed.

“Being able to beat those teams shows a lot of improvement on our part,” junior outside hitter Elizabeth Peyerl said. “Just being able to jump the seeds and go to the fourth or third seed would be really beneficial for us in WDA.”

St. Mary’s will be on the road tonight against Jamestown.
