Indoor Football Back in Bismarck

National Sports

A new era of Bismarck pro football was introduced today. There will be an expansion team here in town in the Champions Indoor Football League beginning play next February. Former UMary wide receiver Elby Pope was announced as the first member of the new team, which has no name yet.

This is the third try at indoor football for Bismarck and the team will play at the Event Center. Richard Davis is the team’s head coach.  Davis has experience with indoor football, having coached in the Arena League for 10 years and the Indoor Football League as well.

The Champions Indoor League will have 16 teams with squads in Chicago, Dallas, Omaha, and Sioux City.
