Inside the Den: A Rivalry Win is a Little Sweeter

Winning is a great feeling. Beating a rival? Even better. The Bismarck Bobcats beat Minot in overtime over the weekend, and based on how big of a rivalry this is, I bet it felt really good. The Maysa arena can carry a rowdy crowd, but as we go inside the den, that made the win over the weekend just a little sweeter.

(Layne Sedevie, Head Coach) “For the first couple years, it was pretty heated. I think even between Marty and myself, we even got into it a few times, but I think it’s just the proximity of the rivalry. It’s one of those things that 100 miles difference. Our fans don’t like theirs and their fans don’t like ours.”
(Lukas Millen, Forward) “A loud crowd for sure. They were going crazy. They are pretty vicious fans. They scream a lot of mean things and I mean, looking into fans faces like ‘Yeah, we just beat you guys.’ It was pretty awesome.”
(Zach Kennedy, Forward) “It felt great to beat them. You know if you made the fans mad, so you know you did your job. It’s always fun beating the team and always the fan.”
