Julia Fitterer carving out sizable role on Century girls basketball

National Sports

Century girls basketball has picked up right from their state title last spring.  Lilly Keplin leads the team with 21 points a game, and Lauren Ware is averaging almost a double double.

Younger players like Julia Fitterer are starting to define roles for themselves, too. Fitterer is third on the team with nine points a game, and she leads the team in assists.

Head Coach Ron Metz says the sophomore has been evolving her game ever since summer workouts.

“She’s become more than just a shooter,” Metz said. “She’s more of a driver now, and looking to score inside and out. We’re looking to score at multiple areas of her game and improving on multiple areas of her game.”

Fitterer and the Patriots take on TMCHS Friday at 2:45 p.m.
