After nearly 2 decades as the face of Bishop Ryan athletics, athletic director Bryan Kramer has decided to leave the school and take a similar position at South Prairie High School. The announcement comes as a bit of a surprise but it gives the former coach a chance to build an athletic program at a relatively new high school with many of the programs in the beginning stages.

Bryan Kramer, New South Prairie A.D.:It’s a chance to do something new and exciting with a new school and upstart program a group of people out at South Prairie that their administration has put together that are very impressive really, really good people and good coaches and I’m excited to be a part of building that program out there and building that school.

Besides spending the past 19 years as athletic director Kramer has been a head coach for 14 years guiding teams to state championships but the former Lion himself says that he’ll always feel close to the players and families that he helped coach.

Kramer:Overall that I and we have had at Bishop Ryan over the years has been very rewarding and the biggest thing is I’m still in touch with the kids that I’ve coached and the families that I’ve grown to be a part of at Bishop Ryan, that’s the real difficult part but they’re lifelong friends.

Kramer will take over his new position this summer.
