There’s a new team in town. A summer baseball team is coming to Bismarck and today the name, logo, and new head coach was announced.
Introducing the Bismarck Larks of the Northwoods Baseball League. Sean Repay was announced as the head coach. Repay currently coaches at Lakewood University is Wisconsin and this will be his first season in the collegiate summer ranks.
(Sean Repay, Head Coach) “For the past three years I’ve spent at the professional level. I’ve been a pitching coach and also a head coach at the independent professional level the last three seasons, so I’m really excited to hone back into the college level and this is what I’m passionate about. I love coaching college-level kids. I thinks there’s nothing better and the connection that you make and also playing such a big impact in developing them and helping them get to that next level — That’s important to me.”
And it’s not just Repay that will be calling Bismarck home. The front office, including general manager John Bollinger, are new here in town for the sole purpose of baseball.
(John Bollinger, General Manager) “We picked up our lives and moved here a week and a half ago, but it already feels like home and people here are unbelievably friendly I’ve gotten to notice the past couple days we’ve been here, so that’s been really great. Most importantly, it’s just been awesome to see how excited people are to have a new baseball team.”
The Larks 2017 schedule will be released in December. You can find more information, including ticket packages, at bismarckbaseballisback.com.
