The Legion baseball programs of Mandan picked up wins on their opening night.
Mandan’s top program, the Chiefs, traveled to Grand Forks for a date with the Grand Forks Royals. The Chiefs battled back from a deficit to take the game, 14-10. In the second game, they lost, 24-1.
Back at Veterans Memorial Ballpark, Mandan’s second tier program, the A’s, earned their first sweep of the season. Mandan defeated the Minot Metros, 9-6, in the first game. The A’s followed that performance up with 7-4 win in Game 2.
