National Sports

The Bismarck Governors are locked into the three-seed when the Class AA state tournament starts this weekend.

If Bismarck wins their next game, the Governors will be tied with the West Fargo Patriots for second place, but the Patriots own the tiebreaker.

This has been another impressive season for the Governors. and coach Mike Skytland said it starts with good pitching.

“It’s really every pitcher we have put out there,” Skytland said. “That’s been consistent through the year, which is always good going to give you a chance to win. Now we lost a couple of close games, but you always feel that you are going to have chance to win. Our pitchers have definitely sit that tone.”

Tomorrow the Govs close out the regular season at Municipal Ballpark with a game against Mandan at 7:30 p.m.
