This has been an emotional five days for the Century volleyball team.
On Thursday the Patriots started the Class A State tournament. On Saturday, Century won their fourth straight state title. Then on Sunday, their stat keeper Bonnie Cook died in an air ambulance plane crash.
Head Coach Jamie Zastoupil said she told the team on Monday and that Bonnie would have wanted them to celebrate their state title.
“She always greeted you with a smile,” Zastoupil said. “She was eager to be there. She was always eager to get my schedule for the next year so she could make sure that she could take time off from work so she could be there.”
Bonnie was one of three people on the plane.
