Local Sports

In boys high school basketball, Legacy might be experience growing pains this year.

Last year’s team graduated eight seniors. Coming back this year, Coach Jason Horner says they only have two players with significant varsity experience.

Coach Horner says with such a young team the motto all year will be “It doesn’t matter. We just got to get better.” So he is encouraged headed into the season.

“They were really dedicated the summer,” Horner said. “This is probably the best offseason we’ve had as far as kids buying in and being in the gym and in the weight room and doing things that they need to get better. We really like the mentality of this team.”

Legacy opens the season on Saturday against Fargo South.
