New Salem-Almont boys basketball is looking to prove any doubters wrong.
The Holsteins made strides last year when they made it to regionals for the first time in head coach Ben Kringstad’s tenure.
New Salem-Almont entered Wednesday night at 2-1 on the season, and senior Evan Henke said the team is poised to make a bigger splash this year.
“We’re just looking to prove some people wrong,” Henke said. “We’ve always been low in our standings and preseason polls. This year we’re jsut trying to prove ourselves and make a run at things.”
The Holsteins won their first round game in the Mandan Holiday Tournament and will play again Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.
