The Mandan Girls Hockey team is off a 1-3 start and the program is hopeful as they prepare for the rest of the season.
The Braves earned their first victory of the Steph Hoard era on Nov. 27, when they defeated Dickinson in overtime, 3-2.
Mandan says early on in their practices, they really focused on getting in shape so that they could hang with the opponents in close games in the third period.
“I really think our strength is going to be our conditioning,” senior defensemen Kalie Berg said. “I think they are going to be able to keep up with other teams, unlike last year.”
The next game for Mandan is Friday at home when they face Devils Lake.
