Girls HS Swim and Dive: Mandan sends 12 to State Meet

Local Sports

In girls high school swimming and diving, the girls at Mandan will send 12 to the state meet in West Fargo.

This includes two eighth graders and two ninth graders, so a good sign for the Braves as the team prepares for next season.

This year as a group, Mandan won four duals. On Oct. 27, the Braves tallied a season high 317 points, where they placed fifth at the Dickinson Invite.

Even during their famous drag week, they are working to get better.

“Like the coaches always tell us, Your starts your turns and all that stuff that’s what makes or breaks the race'”, senior Lexi Keller said. “If a girl catches you off a turn, unless you can two-to-one her off a stroke then you’re kind of out the game.”

The state meet is at the West Fargo Hulbert Aquatic Center on Nov. 9 and Nov. 10.
