On Fridya night against Bemidji State, senior Dani Williams became the 17th U-Mary women’s basketball player to score at least 1,000 career points.
Williams entered the contest needing just one point to hit the mark, and it didn’t take long for her to get it.
The Marauders won the opening tip and fed Williams the ball immediately on the right wing, and the senior buried the three-point shot.
The Marauders proceeded to build a big first half lead that they would not relinquish. U-Mary won the game 76-51. The team next plays Crookston Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.
The U-Mary men’s team could not complete the sweep. The Marauders fell 67-59.
