Minor flooding reported in Dickinson

Dickinson, ND residents are on the lookout for Spring thaw.

The City of Dickinson posted on its Facebook page there is some minor flooding on the Southside of town.

Parts of Livestock Lane and 8th Avenue Southwest were closed to motorists last night.

Thursday afternoon the city announced on its social media page that 8th Avenue had been reopened.

According to the public works department, the flooding is due to the Spring thaw.

With warmer temperatures and plenty of snow still left to melt around Dickinson, residents need to be cautious.

The Stark County Emergency Manager announced that sandbag stations have been set up for people in Stark County.

You can find them at the Stark County Shop and at the City of Dickinson Broadway Public Works building.

In the press release from the emergency manager, it states people will have to fill their own sandbags, but both sites will have empty bags and sand available.

However, citizens will need to bring their own shovel to the public works building location.

Both locations are available during the day and after hours.
