The in-state rivalry between U-Mary and Minot State baseball led to one-sided results on Tuesday afternoon, as the Beavers swept the Marauders in the capital city.
The Marauders dropped the first game 7-0. Minot State’s Jaymon Cervantes threw a complete game shutout, striking out eight and allowing just four hits.
The Marauders’ bats came alive in game two, as the homse side held a 7-4 lead after eight frames. However, the Beavers erupted with six runs in the top of the ninth to lead 10-7.
The Marauders got a run back in the final frame to trail 10-8, and then loaded the bases for Darius Barlas, but he flied out to end the game.
The Marauders are now 8-14 in NSIC play.
