Rod Morasch, who is the head tennis professional for the Bismarck Parks and Recreation Department, will receive the Jack Dow Adult Development Award.
The award which honors individuals with the greatest impact on improving adult competitive and recreation play.
Rod grew the adult program at Capital Racquet and Fitness Center. His biggest strides were with players in wheelchairs and beginners. He also enjoys working with kids.
“They become high-level problems solvers because you have to figure the game out for yourself,” Morasch said. “Your mom is not coming out here and fixing this for you. They become very independent. What it does is it helps them become better leaders.”
Rod is the winner for the United States Tennis Association Northern Division, which represents North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
