Thompson beats Shiloh Christian for first-ever state title

National Sports

Thompson defeated Shiloh Christian 57-47 Saturday night to claim the program’s first-ever state championship.

The game was back and forth the whole way. Thompson at one point led by eight points, but Shiloh battled back and forced overtime.

In the extra period, Macauley Young fouled out while trying to close out on a Thompson three-pointer. Thompson would make all three free throws for the 48-45 lead.

Shiloh was never able to close the distance after that, and Thompson secured the historic win as a result.
