U-Mary softball send off seniors with split against Sioux Falls

U-Mary softball split a doubleheader with Sioux Falls Saturday afternoon on the U-Mary campus.

The Marauders were held to just two hits in the first game and lost 3-0.

Between games, the team held an on-field ceremony for the senior class of Paige Matsuki, Brieann Backes and Kylie Alto.

Emma Noble got things going in the second game by robbing Sioux Falls of a leadoff solo home run in the first. Sioux Falls kept swinging the bats, though, as they plated three by the end of the frame.

U-Mary scored a run in the first, one in the sixth and one in the seventh to tie the game at 3-3 and force extras. In the ninth, Rebekkah Keller delivered a walk-off RBI for the second consecutive day to salvage a Senior Day split.

U-Mary next hosts Bemidji State on Wednesday.
