The University of Mary women’s basketball team is off to their best start in at least the last nine seasons.
U-Mary is 6-2 overall and 4-1 and in the Northern Sun.
The offense for U-Mary has been outstanding. Junior forward Gabbie Bohl is averaging 21 points a game, which is the best in the conference. Right behind her at No. 4 is junior forward Cassie Askvig at 17.
“We’re playing really well offensive,” head coach Rick Neumann said. “Defensively we are an improved ball club. We’ve played a couple of teams that we should beat by alot and we’ve played a couple of really good Division II opponents as well. Overall at this point in the season, I think we are right where we need to be.”
U-Mary is back in action on Dec. 30 when they travel to rival Minot State. Tip off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
