As the storm system departs to the east, our winds will slowly begin to calm down after midnight. Temperatures will drop considerably however, with both above and below 0 single digit readings across the state by tomorrow morning. Add in the wind, and we’ll be looking at a bitterly cold Friday morning. We’ll see sunshine tomorrow, but temperatures will be slow to rebound, as highs for many won’t make it out of the single digits above 0. This cold airmass won’t be in place for long however, as temperatures quickly warm up into the weekend. There is a chance for precipitation late Saturday into Sunday, with light accumulations of snow possible and perhaps a mix of rain. The see-saw pattern in temperatures will continue however, as another cold blast moves into the area around the New Year’s Day timeframe.
