KX Storm Team Tuesday Night One Minute Forecast

One Minute Forecast

Clouds will increase overnight as a system approaches with an associated warm and cold front. There could be a little light rain after midnight, however any precipitation does look light. An outside chance does exist for light freezing rain, especially around the Bismarck area tomorrow morning when temperatures may fall just below 32F. Temperatures tomorrow will again be above average, but winds will increase dramatically as a cold front pushes through, with wind advisories for the southwest part of the state set to go into effect tomorrow morning. A light rain/snow mix may also develop on the backside of the system tomorrow afternoon. Thursday will be a return of dry and mild weather, with another system on Friday bringing another slight chance for rain and snow. Temperatures will tumble this weekend, with next week looking closer to normal. Chances for snow also begin to increase early next week as both models depict a stronger storm system developing. Both 12z deterministic models have roughly the same placement of the system, with the euro about 24 hours behind. I suspect that the heaviest snow may trend south, similar to the storm late last month. Regardless there seems to be high confidence in colder air spilling back in, as we head away from the El Nino split flow pattern we’ve been seeing. -Meteorologist Dave Holder
