Light snow continues in the northern half of the state this morning while the second and more potent round moves in from the south.
Most of the snow will fall in central and eastern ND with the higher accumulation in the southeast.
Highs today will remain in the single digits subzero with a light northerly wind increasing tonight and into Thursday morning with the exiting storm to the east.
Wind will also increase tonight from the north to around 15-20 mph gusting to 25-30 mph. Blowing snow will stay a concern into Thursday as most of the snow that’s on the ground is still dry and fluffy.
The attention then turns to the cold air that follows the storm which will bring Friday morning lows to -20 and -30 and wind chills to around -50.
We remain below average into the next week even though highs will return to above zero.
