Friday’s PM Forecast Update 7/7

Weather Blog
From the KX Storm Center:
Under a ridge of high pressure, temperatures continue to warm up with even more sunshine. Through the next couple of days, this calm weather pattern will continue. Temps will climb through the 80s and well into the 90s. Some of us will have daytime highs in the triple digits. So, hot & a little humid will be trend. There will be a chance for rain this weekend. We are not looking at high totals or widespread rain. But, scattered showers & a few thunderstorms are possible Saturday night & Sunday morning. There will be a second piece of energy that rolls through Western & Central ND by Monday/Tuesday. Showers & a few thunderstorms will be possible again. However, at this point it looks to be hit & miss. Our weekend rain chances will be associated with a low pressure system. At this point, there is not a risk for severe weather, just showers & a few thunderstorms. By Sunday, daytime highs will be in the 90s & a few triple digits South & West. Winds will become breezy and dew points back down into the 40s for some. This means that humidity values will be low. It will be dry, hot & breezy. Sunday’s set up may lead to a higher fire danger situation. So, keep that in mind if you have any outdoor plans. If you are in one of ND’s counties with burn restrictions, check before you start up any camp fires or open burns.

The beginning of the work week will bring a few more hit & miss rain chances with temps well into the 90s and still breezy, Monday. Of these few rain chances, it does not look like we will receive the widespread rain needed to help with drought conditions. By the end of the 7day planner, rain chances return with another heat up. Temps will climb back through the 90s and near 100, by Friday.

Tonight, mostly clear and mild. Lows in the 50s & 60s with a NE/SE wind 2-10mph.
Saturday will bring plenty of sunshine with temps warming back into a hot range. Highs in the 90s & a few 80s with a S/NW wind 2-12mph.
Saturday Night, mostly clear to partly cloudy with  few showers & thunderstorms possible (mainly North). Lows in the 60s with a SE/SW wind 5-15mph and calming for some. 30% chance of rain.

Sunday, rain chances ending with more sunshine, warmer temps and stronger winds. Highs in the 90s & 100s with a SW/North wind 10-20mph G30. 10% chance of AM rain.
Sunday night, mostly clear to partly cloudy. Lows in the 60s with a few 50s and an East wind 5-15mph.
