Halloween PM Forecast Update | Tuesday 10/31

Weather Blog

From the KX Storm Center:
Good news for trick or treaters… We are not looking at any significant snow totals tonight. It will be chilly with calming winds and a few rain/mix/snow showers. For most of us, we may get <1″ (a trace) of snow. A few areas could be looking at 1″-3″ (mainly North) by the time this clipper moves out of the state. By 5pm temps will be near 40 and falling into the 30s. It will be mostly cloudy with a few rain/snow showers moving into Western ND (West of hwy 85). It will be chilly. So, bring what you need to stay warm. Light rain/snow will be moving East through the evening and by 10pm, snow/mix showers will be affecting parts of Western & Central N (West of Hwy 83). Temps will be in the 20s & 30s with a light Southerly wind.
Tonight & Wednesday rain/snow mix is expected to be off/on with precip ending Wednesday night. A few flurries will be possible Thursday morning. Our headlines this evening include a few mix/snow showers, little to no accumulation and temps falling into the 20s. There will be a short lull in precip through Thursday. Then our next system will start to move into the area Thursday night & Friday. This late week & weekend system may be our first round of shovelable snow for parts of the state. It is still too far out to give exact totals and our long range models have been inconsistent when it comes to event totals. Good news is that they have been bringing totals down. It looks like this system will roll through Friday 11/3, Saturday 11/4 & Sunday 11/5. That being said, during the next couple of days some of our more high resolution models will be picking up on this system and we will be able to narrow down timing and totals for you! Stay tuned!
Through the next 7 days, highs will be in the 30s with a few 40s and lows will mainly be in the teens & 20s. With a few different systems, daily snow chances will continue through this weekend. More sunshine and some warming is forecast, next week.

Tonight, mostly cloudy with scattered rain/snow showers moving West to East. Little to no accumulation is expected and it will get chilly. Lows in the 20s & 30s with a South/SW wind 2-10mph. 60% chance of precip.

Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with continued scattered rain/snow showers and winds picking up a bit. Highs in the 40s (South) & 30s (North & East) with a West wind 5-15mph G20-25mph (stronger winds SW). 40% chance of rain & snow.

Wednesday night, mostly cloudy and cold. A few flurries will be possible. Lows in the 20s & teens with a NW/North wind 2-12mph.

Thursday, mostly cloudy with some clearing and cold for most of the day. Highs in the 30s with a North wind 5-15mph G20.

Thursday night will bring increasing clouds and rising snow chances, late. Lows in the 20s & teens with a NE/East wind 5-15mph, becoming breezy at times. 30% chance of snow.
