KX Storm Team Evening Forecast

Weather Blog

Changes to our weather are coming in a major way over the next 24 hours. A cold front, complete with cold Canadian arctic air behind it, will arrive in our state early tomorrow morning. At the same time, a system from the northwest will bring precipitation beginning after midnight. Most of the precipitation will be in the form of snow, and will arrive from northwest to southeast through tomorrow morning. Current thinking is that a heavy band of snow will set up somewhere across the viewing area. Within this band, accumulations of over half a foot will be likely. At this point, the heaviest snow looks to set up from a Crosby-Stanley-Garrison-Steele line. In addition, winds will become quite breezy out of the northwest, and temperatures will fall through the day. By Saturday, high pressure will clear our skies, but the beginning of the weekend looks to feature the coldest air of the season so far. Temperatures will gradually warm up into next week, with the next chance of precipitation moving in Monday. -Meteorologist Dave Holder
