KX Storm Team Thursday Evening Forecast

Weather Blog

As high pressure settled overhead tonight, winds will calm but temperatures will drop. A number of spots will dip below freezing by early tomorrow morning. Tomorrow will feature highs in the 50s, but increased cloud cover ahead of the anticipated storm system. A couple of waves of precipitation are expected, with the first beginning late Friday night and into Saturday morning. This wave will primarily affect our southwestern counties, and as temperatures cool into Saturday morning, light snow accumulations are possible in these areas. A second wave will arrive late Saturday and into Sunday. This wave of precipitation will be much more expansive in its coverage of the viewing area, and again snow will mix in as temperatures cool overnight into Sunday. Additional accumulations of snow are likely by the end of the weekend. Some rain and snow may linger into Monday, but another potent system is possible by the middle of next week. Temperatures will remain below average. -Meteorologist Dave Holder
