KX Storm Team Thursday Evening Forecast

Weather Blog

Look for precipitation to continue tonight for those east of a Dickinson to Minot line, with a bit of a break after midnight. Precipitation will be in the form of snow mixed with rain and ice, as warmer air advects in from the south. The storm system will push off to the east by tomorrow evening with dry weather for the first part of the weekend. Active weather picks right back up however on Sunday, as a deep upper level trough forms across the western half of the country. This will allow for the next system to contain quite a lot of moisture, and produce heavy precipitation by early next week. Exact precipitation type is still uncertain, but at this point snowfall accumulations do not look particularly big. -Meteorologist Dave Holder
