KX Storm Team Wednesday Evening Forecast

Weather Blog

A couple of cold fronts over the next 48 hours will bring significant changes to North Dakota. The first, arriving tomorrow morning, will bring us cooler air with a chance of precipitation to the north. Precipitation will be in the form of rain, snow, and ice, and only light accumulations of snow are expected. A stronger cold front then arrives early Friday morning. Very cold, Canadian arctic air will be behind this front, and temperatures will drop through much of the day Friday into Saturday. At the same time, an area of low pressure moves in from the northwest, bringing snow to the entire viewing area. Snow accumulations could be on the moderate side, however pinpointing exact locations is difficult at this time. Saturday morning could feature some of the coldest air this season, but temperatures do begin to slowly warm back up through next week. -Meteorologist Dave Holder
