There is one word to describe this forecast — hot! Some areas have broken records as many areas have reached triple digits. And the hot temperatures are FINALLY going to end! A low pressure system is coming through with an attached cold front. This will drop temperatures down into the 80s on Monday and then around 80 degrees by Tuesday. This front is expected to be mostly dry, but a few storms are not out of question and will likely not be severe. Another feature with this front is more smoke in the atmosphere. The front is holding back some of the smoke so we will continue to hold onto smoky conditions. Once we continue through the week a few rounds of showers and thunderstorms may be possible — including another increase in temperatures by next weekend- but only to around 90 degrees. An average high temperature is in the mid 80s and lows in the mid 50.
Sunday night, increasing clouds overnight with a few late night/ early morning showers possible as the cold front sweeps through. Lows in the mid 60s and winds south/west at 5-15 mph.
Monday, smokey skies and a partly cloudy sky with a chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Winds north at 5-15 mph. Highs in the 80s.
Monday night, a partly cloudy sky. With lows cooler, in the 50s, and winds north and light.
Tuesday, a few clouds and highs around 80 degrees. Winds northeast and light.
Tuesday night, a southeast wind and light. Lows in the 50s and a clear sky.
