Sunny Skies and 70 Degrees: Weather Update 5/19

Weather Blog

The big story for the next day will be the high pressure that is building over the area. This will allow for clear skies and warmer temperatures for the next couple of days. We do have to mention that there is a frost advisory for much of the state — this will go in effect later tonight — a frost advisory means that widespread frost is possible and any vegetation is at risk because of the cooler temperatures — lows tonight will be in the 30s. Sunday will have lighter winds and temperatures a few degrees warmer — the warming trend will continue through much of this week as highs will be in the 70s and lower 80s. By the last half of the week a frontal boundary will be coming through the area — this will enable a chance of showers and thunderstorms as a few waves of energy are possible. An average high temperature for mid May is in the mid to upper 60s and lows in the mid 40s.

Tonight, clear skies with widespread frost possible. A frost advisory has been issued. Lows in the 30s with a northeast/southeast wind at 1-8 mph.

Sunday, a southeast wind at 5-10 mph and highs around 70 degrees. Winds southeast at 5-10 mph with a sunny sky.

Sunday night, winds southeast at 5-10 mph and lows in the 40s. Skies, clear.

Monday, sunny and highs around 80 degrees. Winds south at 5-15 mph.

Monday night, a southeast wind at 5-10 mph and lows on either side of 50 degrees.
