Tuesday’s PM Forecast Update 9/12

It is sunny and hot across the state. Temperatures are climbing through the 80s & well into the 90s for most of the state. Not only will our high temps be well above average for this time of the year, many of us will get to near/above record highs. This will be one of the last hot days for a while. A major pattern change will be under way through the next several days. Wednesday will still be warm with temps above average (40s/70s) for this time of the year & highs still well into the 80s. 
Starting late Wednesday, rain chances return. Isolated showers with a few thunderstorms are expected through Wednesday night & Thursday. By Thursday night, rain will become scattered with a few thunderstorms. By Friday, widespread rain is expected to last into Saturday. 
With this next extended chance of rain, thunderstorms are in the forecast. Not only is much needed rain on the way, significant totals are expected. Parts of Western & Central ND can expect 2+” by this weekend. 
Along with higher rain chances, temps will fall below average with highs in the 60s & even a few 50s. Winds will also pick up & become breezy. So, after hot temps today it will still be warm tomorrow. But, Thursday through the weekend make sure you have a rain jacket.
Tonight, mostly clear with a few clouds rolling into our area. Lows in the 50s with a North/East wind 2-10mph.
Wednesday will start off partly cloudy with more clouds rolling in & rising rain chances, late. Temps will still be above average, but not as hot. Highs in the 80s & a few 90s with an East wind 5-15mph. 20% chance of PM rain.
Wednesday night, mostly cloudy with some clearing & isolated rain possible. Lows in the 50s & 60s (East) with a NE wind 2-12mph G20. 20% chance of rain.
Thursday, isolated rain & thunderstorms continue under partly to mostly cloudy skies and it will be breezy. Highs in the 70s & 60s with a North/NE wind picking up to 10-20mph G30. 90% chance of rain.
Thursday night, mostly cloudy with rising rain chances & it will be breezy. Lows in the 50s with a few 40s and a NE wind 10-20mph. 60% chance of rain.
