Wednesday’s Forecast Update 7/12

Weather Blog
From the KX Storm Center:
It is a little breezy at times and much cooler across the state. Afternoon temps were mainly in the 60s & 70s with a little more warming expected. Temperatures are 10-25 degrees cooler than this time yesterday. Enjoy this break from the heat, because it wont last long. Temperatures will start to warm up again tomorrow, becoming hot Friday. A heat wave is expected with daytime highs in the 90s and near/above 100 through the weekend and into the beginning of the work week. These unseasonably hot conditions will be coupled with low rain chances, worsening our drought across most of North Dakota.
There will be a few chances for rain, this week. Parts of the state some decent rainfall, but it will be scattered at best. The better chance for rain will be Friday PM & Friday night. Showers & thunderstorms. A few more areas of rain will be possible through the beginning of the work week. Otherwise, expect a lot more sunshine with temps above average and Hot.
Past the 7day planner, our weather pattern will continue. Unseasonably warm temps and below average rainfall. I would love to tell everyone that widespread relief is in sight. But at this time, it looks like this extreme drought will continue with only a few chances of rain.

Tonight, partly to mostly cloudy. Lows in the 50s with a few 40s and a NE/SE wind 2-12mph.
Thursday, clearing early revealing plenty of sunshine and warmer temps. Highs in the 80s (Central) & 90s (Western) with a SE/South wind 5-15mph G20.
Thursday night, mostly clear and mild. Lows in the 50s & 60s with a SE/South wind 2-12mph.
Friday will be sunny and hot with a few clouds early. Scattered rain & thunderstorms possible for the PM hours. Highs in the 90s & 100s with a South/SW wind 5-15mph G25. 40% chance of rain, late.
Friday night, rain chances ending with clearing. Lows in the 60s & 70s with a SW/North wind 5-15mph G25.
