Winter Weather Advisories are in effect through Saturday.

From the KX Storm Center:
Widespread snow has been moving through the state and there is a series of Winter Weather Alerts that is in effect across most of the state. They are all in effect through tonight & Saturday morning. It will be breezy and more snow is on the way. Event totals will be higher north of Hwy 200. 
Along & south of I-94, up to 2″.
Northwest ND, along & West of the Missouri River 3″-5″ is expected with 6″+ possible.
The rest of North Central ND 3″-6″ is expected with 7″+ possible.

Along with accumulating snow, areas of dense fog will be possible. This means reduced visibility & slick roads are expected. Use caution while driving and check out the NDDOT road conditions map before you hit the roads. You can find that on the KX Weather web page, Saturday afternoon, this system will start to move out of the state with slightly warmer temps. Daytime highs (Southwestern & South Central ND) will climb above freezing and warmer temps are expected above the surface, too. Through Saturday afternoon & into the early evening, mix & light rain are in the forecast. By Sunday, it will start to clear out a bit with cooling temps and by Sunday night/Monday morning, temps will fall into the teens & single digits for most of our area. 
Snow chances will not be over yet. Early next week, another system will bring scattered snow through Western & Central ND on Monday. Totals will not be as high and it will be breezy. Through next week, expect more sunshine with temps falling even further below average. So, lows will be in the teens with highs in the 20s & 30s. There is another chance of snow by this time next week. 
After our current winter weather advisories end, no severe winter weather is expected during the next 7 days. Just a few chances of snow & much colder temperatures.

Tonight scattered snow will fizzle out early and return after Midnight. Lows 20s with an East/SE wind 5-15mph, becoming gusty at times. Chills in the teens & single digits with a 60% chance of accumulating snow (mainly North).

Saturday will remain cloudy and it will be breezy for some. Scattered snow will become mix & rain where temps climb above freezing. Highs in the 30s with an East/North wind 10-20mph. 40% chance of snow with chills in the teens & 20s.

Saturday night, partly to mostly cloudy with tapering snow chances and cooling temps. Lows in the teens with a NW wind 5-15mph G20. 30% chance of snow with chills in the single digits & teens.

Sunday will be partly to mostly cloudy with some clearing and it will bee a little breezy at times. Highs in the 20s & 30s with a NW wind 5-15mph. Chills in the teens.

Sunday night, it will get cold with with more clouds starting to roll into the state with a few areas of light snow possible. Lows in the teens & single digits with light winds swinging around to the North.
